I think this idea would bring a lot of interest to the brand as people will want to hear from their favourite comedians! At the same time the fact that they would help to break new acts would show just what Shockwaves can do, and were that act to make it big it would be a real bonus for the brand as it would show the after effects and influence of Shockwaves!

Definitely Becky! I think it'd be brilliant for the comedian to be given that chance to make it! I love listening to upcoming bands all the time, and to have an opportunity like this could be very positive for their career. Not to mention how great it would be for Shockwaves!

I agree that people will want to hear from their favourite comedians and I also see why a new act becoming famous would have a positive impact on the brand, but I believe there are too many options for hearing comedians and especially new talent at the minute and this idea makes me think of what BBC Three, Dave and Channel 4 seem to offer all the time, so it wouldn't be that new and could in fact be boring :(

thanks BeckyC! Thinking of established stand-up comics who would suit Shockwaves do you think? (and are you a budding stand-up?).

P.S I happend to know that Katie of this parish is also an accomplished stand-upper. Perhaps she can give us a line or two?

This idea could be linked with the membership idea - If you're a Shockwaves Member then you could get invited to exclusive comedic events?

good idea. I went to a Comedy channel night recently on the same basis. In fact, Shockwaves and them could make a good team.

This is a great way for Shockwaves to share the smiles all over the interweb! Humour is something that we can all appreciate. In terms of current known comedians, I think of names such as Russell Kane, Jack Whitehall, Russell Howard and Jon Richardson -- I would love to see some of these names engaging with the brand and giving a chance to up and coming acts, this could be a great platform!

I do understand what you mean but I don't think there is a need for this - there are that many ways to access comedy, including fresh talent now, I don't feel the need for anymore.

For example, if I want to see people who think they are funny, youtube will provide me with the videos of thousands of people - if not millions and even typing "jokes" into google brings up 187,000,000 results.

yes, like the idea of the comedy channel for this one, or linking up with any kind of media partner would be pretty crucial. I have to say hair is pretty important to male stand ups, I once saw someone (will fill in name when I can remember it) who went for spikes all over his head, which he plastered with glitter - it was wow hair. not so sure about the material, but the hair was fab.

Al Murray is one of my favourite comedians although I am not sure that he puts too much effort into his hair

I NEED to see this happen! It would be brilliant, and promote the idea Shockwaves are a really fun, cool brand. I'd love to see Noel Fielding, someone a bit edgier than most. Anyone on Nevermind the Buzzcocks is funny and never fail to make me chuckle :)

This would be amazing! Especially if its exclusive to members as well, it makes you feel a more valued customer :)

That would be ace you could have like a guest comedian on a monthly basis who gets featured on the site and I really like the idea of getting exclusives for shockwave members you could do a #ask________ on twitter for a video on the site where the comedian could answer everyones questions and you could have budding new stand ups profiles to give them support and get them out there! Like a 3 min video where they're addressing current issues or something to sell themselves! It shows shockwaves off as a funny brand who care about their customers :)

I like this idea. I think it would help upcoming new acts as well as more established ones, and fans of those comedians would hear about the Shockwaves brand through the comedian as well, and therefore be more likely to support them. It would help to get new acts out there and more well known as well. I like the idea of being able to ask them questions on twitter, especially if they could be hair related, just to link it back to Shockwaves!

I like the idea of it helping out upcoming acts, would be really cool. Yeah ofcourse link it back to shockwaves they could ask about what haircare they use aswell as other funny questions which aren't as related!

Hi, not keen on this idea at all - The television and event local pubs and other venues seem to be inundated with stand up comedians at the minute and especially raw, fresh talent and I have had all of this type of comedy I can take.

In terms of this doing anything for shockwaves, my mind is at a blank because unlike with other ideas, there doesn't seem to be much scope for showcases shockwaves products and many comedians or people who think they are funny tend not to do much in terms of style with their hair apart from the select few.

Jokes can also be an area which would have to be strictly moderated because some things mentioned may cause offense and this in itself may dilute the overall funniness that this concept would offer overall.

It's a great idea. Just not really relevant to Shockwaves or hair. I feel like anyone interested in this idea is more interested in the comedians than the brand and there would be no inspired brand loyalty. or really any link to what Shockwaves is trying to sell.

People always enjoy a good laugh and are even natural comedians themselves. Hairstyles can also be quite funny aswell. Especially bed head hair with pointynndu
