Shockwaves

X-Men Style

Shockwaves is teaming up with our favourite superheroes X-Men! Crazy people, crazy hair. There’s a new film in the series coming out this year called The Wolverine and we will be giving away tickets to the premier as well as giving you all the latest info and gossip on line.

Love it!! Who better to endorse a hair product than a man who can pull off the electrocuted look?! I think that teaming up with superheroes like those will certainly influence a younger generation and the more "out there" the styles they have are, the better! Even thought they don't necessarily sport your every day kind of looks, it would show what could be done with Shockwaves given a little imagination, and show that if they can hold a look like the characters wear then the product would be able to hold any ordinary style!

I Becky, I agree completely about your message that if it works for complex and difficult styles, then ordinary ones will be achieved easily and I didn't consider this initially when I thought about it :)

I love this idea! It joins the idea of 'celeb' with 'hair' really well in my opinion. I think that this is going to work really well, and allows for interaction from the people that support Shockwaves.

This would be awesome! Maybe the tickets could be incentive for another crowd sourcing project?

I love the brand linking in with the film industry, as a film and media graduate this really appeals to me. A one-stop spot for all of the latest movie news, there are so many articles that could be produced via Shockwaves about X-Men & hair alone! Ideas, ideas, ideas... Plus, as far as incentives go, this is the best one yet! YES! :-)

I wondered if there was another film angle incentive - visiting the hair and make up trailer in action on films that are shooting?

That would be amazing. I'm too excited. I want the golden ticket!! :-P

true although I would hope that shockwaves products would be visibly used there or otherwise it might make the brand seem not good enough for important events such as filming.

Such a cool idea right love it haha! It promotes shockwaves and it also if someones interested in the premier and shockwaves get coverage of this event people will be likely to watch.
You could style the winners prior to the event also :)
Would love to have a chance of winning this so :)

great idea cat in terms of styling the winners and this would be another great promotional stunt for shockwaves too :)

Thank you and yeah I think it would be a great opportunity as it won't need much extra funding as you're just filming the event with a reporter :) which people from shockwaves would likely already be at :)

This is really innovative and brilliant! A great incentive too.

Perhaps a competition to style your hair AFTER one of the X-Men. Some great varieties too, between Hugh Jackmans Wolverine hair (and the sideburns for extra points :P), Rogues wavy white stripe and even Mystiques slicked back redhead! It would be a cool and fun way to try Shockwave products and (literally) get into character for the new release!
Disqualify anyone styling after Professor X though ;). . . .

If people do this they need to show a before and after photo as well I think! Just to see how much they've adapted their hair to look like said character! And YES! Sideburns for extra points!

Love this idea Robert! That would be fun to do too! and the before and after photo idea is great. Most creative wins.

Hi, in terms of teaming up with the X-Men concept, I think this could be a good idea because of the variety of hair styles within these movies. I also think that bringing together shockwaves with x-men will appeal a lot to younger boys to up teenagers who might be inspired to try out some of the styles they see and also come away with a good impression of the brand itself.

Personally, I am enjoy watching the X-Men movies but Wolverine isn't my favourite character and yet another movie about him seems a bit too much , although giving away tickets to the premier as well as information and gossip online would be a good opportunity to ride the media wave which will occur when this movie is released, raise more aware of shockwaves and appeal to this selective audience.

My initial concern is that X-Men mainly appeals to younger men and The Wolverine will appeal to even less who might not appreciate a movie which focuses on only one character and lacks the storyline that previous movies have benefitted from. I would also be concerned that Shockwaves consequentially may come across as more of a young male brand rather than a wider reaching one.

I will vote this up simply on the positive grounds as described above because it does have potential and also sounds like a low cost idea which could reap rewards which exceed the amount invested.

Having thought about the tickets to the premier, it might be even better if a number of these tickets were for a national chain like Cineworld or The Odeon to be used anytime - just to get around the issue of travelling and being available on the day and this might help drive up the numbers who get involved.

Perhaps, but a premier is more elite and special, it's rare for tickets to be given away for anything but the premier honestly. And usually in terms and conditions it does say about leaving the day free and you usually get at least a month to leave it free, typically they occur in London, Leicester Square I think? and travel to there is relatively easy, so it shouldn't be a huge concern for shockwaves. I think the appeal of premier tickets overrides the practicality issues in most cases.

I have to disagree - as someone from Bradford in West Yorkshire, it would take me a lot of hours to get to London and could be very expensive too and while I agree that it may be rare for anything but premier tickets to be given away, this to me sounds like a great opportunity for shockwaves to break free from the mould and do something which will appeal to even more people than premier tickets could ever do.

Superheroes are SOOO in right now. I always loved Storm and Rogue's white colour. It's definitely an inspiration. Who doesn't love superheroes? As fictional characters based on a comic, their hair has to stand the test of nothing, but in real life, there's wind, rain, and the occasional bad guy, having to deal with everything else, who wants to worry about their hair? But that doesn't mean we all shouldn't look good. Okay, prof. X's hair isn't that fashionable. But Wolverine's is gravity defying. And lots of people, myself included, would love hair that never goes flat. :)

Great idea! X-Men is such a big thing, all the bright colours and crazy hair are bound to appeal to people of both genders and ages. These superheroes are known for being crazy with their hair, maybe you could show the superheroes getting ready for filming using shockwaves products?

A great idea since it will attract two kinds of people. Ones who are competition addicts and film lovers.

This is a great idea because I think that a lot of people will participate in it. I am myself a huge xmen fan and so would love this idea to come into action! Hugh Jackman eat your heart out!
