I love the idea that people would be able to have their own scrapbook and I think there are so many possibilities that could come from it. There would be people that would use it for fun, or like Katie suggested for brides! I love the idea that you'd be able to develop your own scrapbook into something personal, and at the same time be able to delve into someone else's world and test out a few of their ideas too!

I agree and maybe it might benefit from different sections too for those people like "brides" or even going to a party or a formal occasion, so that people can quickly access the areas they need and make the scrapbook really easy to navigate.

I think this is a fab idea. Would definately be interesting and I think would encourage more people to use it

I love this idea! I think it would be used by a wide variety of people for a number of different events, such as weddings, parties or interviews. I think there is such a variety of things people could use it for that it would be a success.

I would love a virtual place to store all of my style inspirations - they could add in features like borders and stickers and post-it notes where you can write in whatnots and whosits galore. In addition to this, like it says in the graphic, share it with other members and look at other people's - perhaps have a style network of friends from which you can cut and paste some of their hairspirations on to your own page!

sounds great, the idea of being able to customise it would help make people own it more and put their mark on the scrapbook which might help encourage people to use it more often too

I think this was popular before and is great idea. Let's work on details of how the user experience would be if it was implemented. Is it open to all or just 'shockwaves' members? do you have a choice to share with who you like or is it open access to everyone's scrapbook? is it a stand alone site, or part of something bigger - or part of another social media site already going...(etc...)

Something like Polyvore (for anyone that's not heard of it, you can create individual outfits on a pin board on the site, and even purchase clothing from there as well I believe) but obviously aimed at hair might be useful as you could pin a hair colour, product, look (as created by another user?) and any tips you come across on the site to it.
I feel it could stand alone, although if it was just related to hair I don't know if it would work as well as Polyvore works. Although it would be handy to be able to plan hair for different events, so in that respect it may work as a stand alone site.

Awh I used to love polyvore! Great idea, I said in my comment that I just posted that they could say what outfit they'd use to compliment their choice but ofcourse make the hairstyle the main thing I guess?

Yeah, I think making it so that you can plan the outfit you'd put it with as well might be a good idea. I don't know how this would be done really without detracting from the hair, but I think it would keep people more interested if they could plan the whole outfit with the hair.

Yeah I like that idea, if the outfits there too but just sort of what colours they'd use to compliment it or a theme for the look and the hair product etc being the main theme? I dunno i hope it could work.

I think even the option for t-shirt, blouse, cardigan, hoody, formal trousers, skirt, shorts, dress, etc, just the main basic items of clothing and in basic colours would be useful, just to give you an idea. And the option for a shopping list to go along with that would be good (especially printable or on an app of some sort for smartphones) just so you know what to buy when you're out would be helpful too, but not essential.

Yeah I really like that idea just with basic clothes and colours is a cool idea that way it doesn't draw away from the hair too much at all :). The option for a shopping list too would be cool but I don't think it's necessary like an app would be ideal cause then if you're shopping for a party or something it could help you tell a shop assistant what you want etc :) I like the idea of an app, easy access.

Mel Strange Jun 25, 2013

I think it needs to be basic in all aspects apart from the hair, really. Promote the hair and the products more than everything else that goes with it, but make sure it's usable for events. I think an app would definitely help though, the more I think about it, as it would allow you to add things on the go as well, such as when you see something in a store or someone inspires you.

I think this should be a stand alone site - it has so much to offer, a website dedicated to this would add value to it and really give it the space it deserves and not make it appear like a parasite/side-line.

I think that social networking websites should still have pages about the scrapbook but only to house links and direct people to where they need to be.

I think that it would be good if it was open access so that people can connect easily but to protect privacy, personal information is hidden unless the user unblocks it per request.

I love the combination of ideas in this. I'd find it so useful and like to take part by uploading photos too! I think for online security maybe have it optional to 'share to all' or just with friends. Though personally I think it'd be more fun to share to all, it might not be for everyone. It could be open to all and then have exclusive parts of the site reserved for just shockwaves members- which would encourage more to get involved!

This would be so fun and i agree with Jenn3Jenn, online security would be good as it would encourage more people to share safely. Being able to look at other peoples 'hairspiration' would make it so much better because this way you get to see more styles

You could do like a page with all of the images that inspired you and ooh this sounds so fun ahahah. Pictures of what kind of event its for etc. If you can look at other peoples style that would be great but at the same time it might be an idea to allow people to privatize their accounts. You could have it like lookbook and have top stylers and their style on the homepage. You could have like a leaderboard and the option for taking a page out of someones 'scrapbook' should be allowed and you can put that into another book on your user called style inspiration or something and also have a category for each page as previously stated for brides etc. You could add what you would wear to compliment your hairstyle choice to add more to it I guess?

I like the idea of the leaderboard. Maybe it could be judged by how popular they are in terms of views or how regularly people copy a page out of their scrapbook? I think it would definitely encourage people to continue to use the site if they could get style ideas from other people as well as creating their own.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too getting idea from other people is what it seems to be all about and sharing ideas :)

This sounds like a great idea and the perfect opportunity to discover new styles yourself and benefit from "how-to-do" guides or even show off your own looks and help others too.

I really like this concept because it fits in completely with what shockwaves is all about and the product it sells and out of all of the ideas I have rated so far, this one seems to have a 100% fit that helps its customers and also encourages others to start buying their products and get more out of their hair styles.

I think the ability to add hair accessories should definitely be added to this in some way, from things like hats or veils to hair bands and even sunglasses. (possibly scarves? long hair would certainly cover part of a scarf anyway). I think this would add more of an ability to customize your hairstyle to the site without really taking away from the hair at all. Again, there could be tutorials on the hair accessories and unusual ways to use or layer certain accessories as well. I feel this might be more aimed at women, though.

Whenever i feel like changing something abut myself, and lets face it, we're all still trying to find ourselves. I will open a new folder on my laptop under "slimspiration" when i'm trying to lose weight. Or "Awesome hair" for when i'm looking for a new style. I love to try new things and i am constantly changing my hair, i mean, hello, my hairs dyed ginger at the moment, everyone thinks its an accident. It would be amazing to think people are actually inspired by my look. Probably the only bit of celebrity a lot of us are going to get. And it's probably gonna be a lot better than typing "Cool hair" into google images. GREAT IDEA! And i love air tutorials on youtube too, so a place to come where i can just find new hair ideas would be useful.

I love the 'how-to-do' idea. I always want to change my hairstyle and this would allow me to try out a range of idea from people everywhere, It would allow interaction between people from all backgrounds and most importantly would give people new ideas on their hair. There are already a lot of hair tutorials on youtube however this would feel a lot more personal and incorporate and promote shockwaves at the same time.

It is a good idea since you can review and look back at the plans. Also some salons do have access to any magazines to look into for inspiration. So the scrapbook is available at hand.

I think that it would make a really good site on its own, but I think it would also be good with a way to connect it to Facebook or Twitter or any other blogs that people might want to link into!
