I think this is an excellent idea because it means that the members/fans of Shockwaves will get to continue to give feedback and help Shockwaves to progress as a company. It also allows for more interaction which will get the brand free advertising through word of mouth. I especially like the idea of there being product reviews (especially if these are from consumers/fans rather than experts (although this would also be useful) because you can match products with people with similar hair or style to yourself that way). I think there would definitely need to be exclusives though, in order to encourage an active membership base.

I agree mostly with what you are saying although in terms of incentives, I think that these don't necessarily have to exclusive in order to attract and encourage active participation.

I think the members club, point system and platinum shockstar is very encouraging for people to consistently connect and interact with the brand and community features.

I agree, I think there is so much that could be done with the idea! You could basically build every idea on the site around this, every time people upload pictures they could gain Shockpoints, every time they buy a product they could gain points and then the rewards of the points could be redeemed into tickets to events or discount off or things!

totally agree, it's the place for all the games, comps etc that have been cooked up by this community.

Like this one a lot especially since there's something which the users of the site can get e.g the products. You could have like competitions for certain events such as movie premiers and get the lucky winner styled prior to the event by shockwaves then you could film them for youtube would be such a cool way to get shockwaves out there and people interested in certain films will watch shockwaves coverage of events. Also the way that it's a community and you can get free hints and tips when you need it, you could have different posts into categories for different events e.g: everyday and formal. Product reviews also will really help the members of the community to decide which product to buy :)

this is another idea that could do with some imagineering maybe? what sort of community would it be - how would it work, would it have it's own site? would it have hosts like this site sort of does? What's your vision of this idea?

I think it should have it's own site - think cokezone.co.uk for an example of the sort of thing I'm thinking of here. It's essentially a site dedicated to the points and what you can do with them (including winning tickets to special/secret events, free downloads, discount codes, that kind of thing that are exclusive to the site and it's members).
I think that members should be able to earn points by uploading content (maybe this could be linked to some of the other ideas, such as the competitions where you upload your impression of a celebrity, or it could include reviews of the products). I do think you should get something back in some way for purchasing the products, so perhaps the ability to enter a code from the product to see if you've won any points to use on anything, or even an entirely free product.
That's the kind of site I imagine, although of course it could be toned down or up depending on the Shockwaves budget - I wouldn't expect to get more back than I'm putting in as a member at all, more like a small reward just to say 'thanks for choosing Shockwaves' kind of thing.

I agree with your ideas for points but disagree with the idea of it having its own website; I say this because as a coke customer, I find it confusing the amount of different social media pages, websites and other pages coke seem to have and I would prefer it if this members club was a section within the main website as this would make it easier to find and less confusing than the coke model.

I think this idea would be good if it was delivered as part of a shockwaves website because you usually would find a reward section/members club on a brands website and not as a separate entity.

I'd love to be a member, count me in! I've really enjoyed the past week on this site, it's been so much fun and any excuse to bring out creativity in people! I've loved interacting with new people and seeing what ideas they come up with and what they think of mine too. So I think a members club is a brilliant idea! Competitions, games, getting/giving advice is something I will always be interested in- as many others will. The points system is pretty unique too and think it would work very well :)

Hi, I agree with what you are saying completely and would add that if a shockstar members club was created, it would be important for the moderators to actively encourage participation and value ideas, however similar as people this way will feel valued and hopefully keep coming back

I really like this idea as it gets people involved, houses useful and interesting information and incentivises people to put the effort in to achieve a higher level of membership.

I think it's good that fans of Shockwaves should be involved in product reviews and such like. Who better to give an opinion than the people using your products? I like the idea of rewards for participation
