Shockwaves

Dare2Hair

A lot of us often see a hairstyle we like, but aren't necessarily sure if it would look good on us. A simple tracking software could be created to help us decide which is the look for us!
Users simply would plug in their webcam and would be able (via the tracking software - effectively placing a variety of hairstyles on the users head in real-time) to choose what looks best.
Webcam software like this already exists, such as the freeware ManyCam.
Creating a software specific for hair style purposes would be easy, fun, promotional and be genuinely useful for deciding whether we can 'pull off' that look we've been dreaming about!

I've even made some examples to help demonstrate the idea :)

This is a brilliant way of 'trying before you buy' with hair styles. I have looked at some styles and thought they look great, but might not necessarily look good on me lol. Love this idea, and that you've included some examples too! :)

Thanks! I know in the past I've been fond of the idea of certain hairstyles - a phase where I wanted Billy Joes (Green Day frontman) hair. Thankfully I chose against it but a software like this could really have helped me make up my mind! You could even throw in other functions such as changing your hair colour in real-time to help you decide further :)

This sort of software is useful for styles and colours, as you've demonstrated above. It would definitely help to stop any hair disasters! I think colour would definitely need to feature highly.
I don't really know if this would be possible to do, but maybe creating some way to demonstrate how Shockwaves products could look on hair similar to your own hair would be useful as well (or at least some way to see what product was used in creating the hairstyles shown) as this would add the brand's identity back into the idea more.

Great idea! There could even be some sort of tutorial you could follow along, with a video or animation playing next to your own webcam view, so you can literally follow it every step of the way to gain a desired look :)

Hahahahaha I love these pictures!!! That's hilarious, the first picture fully made me crease! I love the idea and it's something I think you could have a lot of fun with! I think it would go one of two ways, either funny because it was so bad, or useful if you could make it look more realistic in which case I think people would genuinely consider it! Either way, brilliant idea, and for you Robert, I can only pray you let that ginger bob become a reality :')

Haha thanks so much :) You've raised a really good point definitely, and my thought process with the software is that it could be tailored specifically to realistic hair styles. Unfortunately with the pictures I didn't have much to work with, but you get the general idea :)

This is the same concept as my "Trial the Style" idea but yours is deserving of more vote up's for the visual examples!! I am sold. :-D

Oh no I'm sorry! I've been trying to read through a lot of ideas to make sure this doesn't happen but I must have missed that one! (I will go have a look at it now :P) Great minds think alike though eh? :)
