Shockwaves

Imitate a Celeb

We all know the classic photos of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Michael Jackson etc, so in the sport of another Shockwaves game/ competition, you could request people send in their versions of celebrity photos, whether classic or modern day and see their versions of the hairstyles.

aw, nice one Becky, keep those classic stars alive via the medium of hair. It would be sad for younger people to lose the knowledge of the 20th century's most glamorous people. Angelina Jolie is v beautiful, but she isn't Ingrid Bergman, know what I mean?

KEEP THE CLASSICS ALIVE! :) I love film and I admire the old school film stars especially, I would *attempt* to replicate some of their looks with this.

I love that idea! Being able to replicate something so well known would be great for people looking for fancy dress ideas as well (we've all done it on a night out, right?!), so that's another market that could be targeted!

Yep! I think the more out people go the better so full blown Elvis outfits would be hilarious!!

very true and you will always get some people who want to go above and beyond what everyone else does

Exactly! Plus there may be people going to a fancy dress party who might just want to upload pictures of what they did that night!

Could the challenge be for others to guess who you were trying to imitate? Or would you upload a photo of yourself on the left, and the celebrity on the right?

good point - I think it would appeal even more if users had to guess who the person looked like

I think the guessing game could be quite fun if applied here, maybe have people guessing and then reveal the celebrity in the other format that you suggested. Also, hate to bring it up again (who am I kidding?) but anyone who guessed correctly could receive a shock point or two!

Haha that really just cracked me up! Yes shock points for the intelligent! In that format it would have to be some sort of submission box rather than a wall post or people would just read and copy others ideas to get Shockpoints (unless it were "first to get it")

Hi, given the that the celebrity culture tends to be thriving, this idea could generate some interest and even those who aren't interested in celebrities may be interested in having a look at the different styles people have chosen and probably pay particular attention to the funny/bad ones.

I think it would be a way to show the brands more amusing side, I think it may be stronger advertising than just sticking an advert on TV because this way you're advertising through the people and it involves us all a bit more!

I really like this idea, I might try an Audrey Hepburn style later on just for the hell of it.. :)
I used to backcomb my hair a lot and was inspired by Amy Winehouse, loved her beehive!

Haha well I think that's something we'd all love to see! And I agree, the Winehouse beehive was an inspiring creation!!
